The ARIA Charts are Australia's official music sales charts since June 1988. The Australian Recording Industry Association issues the results weekly. The ARIA Charts publish a record of the highest selling albums and singles (different musical genres) in Australia. It has different chart categories including the Top 100 Albums Chart, Top 20 Australian Artist Singles Chart and the Yearly Top 100 End of Year charts profiling the year in music.

Derulo's song "Trumpets" is a mid-tempo pop and R&B song that is three minutes and thirty seven seconds long. Basically, the song is about being in love with someone that the sound of trumpets can be heard (in the head) every time the couple is together.

"Trumpets" was just at No. 3 on the ARIA Top 50 Singles Chart in the week of Christmas and Boxing Day 2013. This is Derulo's second No. 1 song in 2013 because his other single "Talk Dirty" debuted at No. 1 on the ARIA Singles Chart on Aug. 19, 2013. It reportedly stayed at the top spot for a week.

Topping the ARIA Singles Chart is nothing new for Derulo, who also topped the chart in Feb. 2010 for his single "In My Head," which is part of the album "Jason Derülo." This one stayed for three weeks on the chart.

According to Nine News, "Trumpets" is the 1013th No. 1 single in Australia from 1940 to 2013 and the 451st for ARIA. It's also the 17th and final chart-topper for 2013.

Aside from Jason Derulo's single "Trumpets" topping the ARIA Top 50 Singles Chart, other songs such as "Happy" by Pharrell Williams (Top 2), "Rude" by Magic! (Top 3), "All of Me" by John Legend (Top 4) and "The Monster" by Eminem featuring Rihanna (Top 5) make up the Top 5 Singles of 2013. The rest of the Top 10 Singles Chart include "Timber" by Pitbull featuring Ke$ha (Top 6), "Like A Drum" by Guy Sebastian (Top 7), "Hey Brother" by Avicii (Top 8), "Roar" by Katy Perry (Top 9) and "Free" by Rudimental featuring Emeli Sande and Nas (Top 10).
