Jazz Nips Bobcats on Trey Burke's Game-Sealing Layup
Rookie point guard Trey Burke scored 21 points while Alec Burks added 14 off the bench as the Utah Jazz grinded an 83-80 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats on Monday at Energy Solutions Arena.
Burke delivered one of his best performances in his budding pro career, showing everybody his ability to put the ball in the bucket at the most crucial point of the match. With 19 seconds left on the clock, Burke drove hard to the basket and made a difficult layup to seal the deal for the Jazz.
Al Jefferson, who played three seasons with the Jazz before signing a three-year, $40.5 million deal with the Bobcats last summer, led the way for his new team with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
The Jazz has now won four of their last seven games and improved their record to 10-24. Meanwhile, the Bobcats dropped a tight game for the third straight time as they plunged four games below .500 at 14-18.
