Jean Claude Van Damme chooses the online arena to kick down rumours, which anyway started on the web, of his having a heart attack while filming Weapon in New Orleans.

On his facebook, Van-Damme asks people, "Please, do not believe all what you read from rumors on any unofficial JCVD sites." The actor assures the public that he is "100% healthy, training well for taking the fight."

Van Damme's official English website, www.musclesfrombrussles.be, also reports "JCVD is in better shape than ever and preparing for his fight in July. He did not suffer from a heart attack on the set of Weapon as reported on some websites."

A day after his 50th birthday, news of the actor's health problem came out. Twitch.net reported that JCVD suffered from a minor heart attack which stalled the start of their three-day shooting of Weapon in New Orleans. He was briefly admitted in a hospital where he was joined by his wife Gladys Portugues. After the actor's release, the couple returned to Belgium. The report also mentioned that Van Damme seems to make a full recovery.

E! Online fanned things up quoting Van Damme screenplay writer Sheldon Lettich's discussions on a JCVD fan website, "JC felt some tightness in his chest just hours after he'd arrived in New Orleans, and checked himself into a local hospital for tests." Lettich also said that people from the Weapon set kept the news to themselves upon the request of JCVD and his agent.

Apart from Weapon and other movie projects, Van Damme is also preparing for his fight in July with boxing Olympic gold-medalist and muay-thai champion Somluck Kamsing in Russia. This gives the Muscles from Brussels the chance to face not only the current world champion Jeffrey "The Squasher" Sun but also the prospect of being the first man over the age of 50 to fight professionally.
