Jelena Jankovic Helped by Fan Helps with ‘Bra Malfunction’ at the 2014 Rogers Cup
Jelena Jankovic played true to form in beating Sloane Stephens in the second round of the 2014 Rogers Cup and she delivered the victory even after a “wardrobe malfunction” in the tournament held in Montreal, Canada.
Thanks to a tennis fan on the sidelines, the bra strap complete breakdown was averted as Jankovic went on to play in the match and get the win tough three-set win, 6-7 (7), 6-4, 7-6 (4).
The 29-year-old Serbian was expectedly glad of the victory and that the “wardrobe malfunction” was a minor one. Jankovic posted her thoughts on the incident on her Facebook account:
“That was really funny! Thank you to the nice lady who fixed my strap to finish the game...#brokenbrastrap #neverhappendbefore #crazy”
“I am so happy to finally win at the end! Tough match against Stephens!#happy #tired #funnymoment #brokenbrastrap,” Jankovic posted on her Facebook page.”

However, a day after the bra breakdown, Jankovic couldn’t find a helping hand on or off the court after getting defeated by another American in Coco Vandeweghe in the third round of the same tournament.
Jankovic was put through another tough three-setter and this time she fell with a score of 7-6 (8), 2-6, 7-5. The result was another disappointing ending for Jankovic who was seeded seventh in the tournament and entered the match-up against Vandeweghe as a huge favourite.
The American qualifier advances to the quarterfinals where she will meet Russian Ekatirina Makarova, who also delivered the big upset victory in the tournament with a win over second seed Petra Kvitova (Czech Republic) in the previous round.
Other match-ups in the last eight are Serena Williams (USA) vs. Caroline Wozniacki (Denmark); Carla Suarez Navarro (Spain) vs. Venus Williams (USA); and Victoria Azarenka (Belarus) vs Agnieszka Radwanska (Poland).
