Friends close to the on-off couple say that they cannot live with each other but cannot live without each other either. Another source stated that Selena is very stubborn about Justin and feels that he is the one for her and that they'd live happily ever after. But that doesn't stop Selena, or Justin, from forming other, ahem, allegiances.

This pop princess, the half of Jelena, left X Factor 2012 contestant George Shelley a cute and public video-message on CBBC's Friday Download recently, asking him to get in touch the next time she comes to London, and Shelley is more than enthusiastic about it.

And yet here's a video of Justin obtained by TMZ that shows him confessing to Gomez being his crush - though at that time she was with Nick Jonas. Well, Justin did get his girl but certainly couldn't keep her. They broke up last fall.

In the past Selena has claimed that a break-up is normal for a girl her age and feels that it's no big deal to be in and out of a relationship. As far as public attention is concerned she reportedly stated that they brush it off - when on a date, they date - what the public thinks, says or feels is not prime at that time. Also in her song Love Will Remember - one of the more anticipated songs off her forthcoming effort Stars Dance, Selena starts off the ballad with a voicemail that is touted to be from her on-again-off-again boyfriend and pop phenom, Justin. The voicemail recording is, "Hey babe, it's me. I just want to call and tell you that I love you so, so, so, so much. I just wanted to let you know that you are my princess. You are worthy of all the love in the world. You are the love of my life."

Despite this, in a contradictory move, Selena apparently clicked off a newsfeed interview abruptly when WGN-TV entertainment critic Dean Richards questioned her about Justin - she looked uncomfortable, smiled to someone off the camera and disappeared off screen. No formal statement has come through on whether this was a technical glitch or just evasive tactics. Not only that, she also told Ryan Seacrest in an interview on July 21st that she was single and that whatever happens, happens! Justin who was thrilled to be reunited with Selena with a romantic Fourth of July date was a tad shattered and tweeted a reply the next day, "someone can only get u down if u let them. Life is fun. Smile"

In another angle, Taylor Swift who hopes to be attending Selena's epic party on July 27th is fervently hoping that Justin won't come - Taylor and Bieber have never seen eye to eye - wonder if Selena will end up being sandwich filling?
