Selena Gomez has all the reasons to love Justin Bieber and keep him close to her heart even after their split. The former Disney star has revealed that her ex-beau once turned down a $3M-worth of gift from an emperor. This turned out to be one of the most shocking dates the “Come and Get It” singer had with the “Love Me,” Canadian teen sensation.

Recalling the incident, the “Monte Carlo” star told Kiss FM in a recent interview that she was overseas with Justin for a romantic getaway. Without naming the country they were in, Selena explained that she found herself totally shocked when an emperor offered Justin a diamond worth $3 million.

According to the “Tinker Bell” singer, the unnamed emperor, who was apparently taken by Selena’s beauty, wanted Justin to hand Selena the millions worth of diamond as a gift.

According to Entertainmentwise.com, both stars were shocked. Selena also noted that Justin refused the offer saying, “No, no, no, no, no,”

Selena pointed out that they could not accept the generous gesture because the diamond is owned by the emperor’s wife.

"It was his wife’s!” stated Selena, adding, “It was the craziest thing. It was just a gift because they’re so giving there.”

Justin may have turned down the extravagant gift but he certainly did not make Selena “one less lonely girl.” The Canadian crooner had only proven that he would know what to do in such situation and he handled it as manly as he did years ago.

Justin and Selena began dating as a couple in December 2010. But the former celebrity couple had been friends for two years before they began seeing each other romantically. Justin’s manager, Scooter Braun, may have played a role for the two to meet.

In a report by kidzworld.com, Braun called Selena’s mom, stage actress, Amanda Dawn “Mandy” Teefy and the two apparently started hanging out together.

After two years as best friends, the two officially became 'Jelena' and had been inseparable since then. They only made their romance public after two months of seeing each other as lovers in February 2011.

Fans may recall that magical night where Justin looked dapper in his black suit and Selena in a flaming red gown. The couple turned heads at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party in 2011. They dated for almost two years until they announced their split in November 2012. They rekindled their romance a month after that. Yet, things could not go back as they were for the couple that they broke up again for the second time in January 2013.
