Jennette McCurdy Becomes First Ever Tamagotchi Ambassador Despite 'Sam & Cat' Hiatus [VIDEO]
Despite "Sam & Cat" going on a hiatus, Jennette McCurdy who plays Sam in the series isn't facing any break in her career. For one, she's also working her way up the ladder like her co-star, Ariana Grande. Surprisingly, even with the naked selfie leak, Jennette has been chosen by the Tamagotchi brand as the first ever brand ambassador.
Tamagotchi was quite the craze back in the 90's where users where given a virtual pet to take care of. It was created by Akihiro Yokoi of WiZ and Aki Maita of Bandai from Japan. Even with the boom of digital devices with innumerable apps that allow users to take care of virtual pets, Tamagotchi's remain the classiest and most wanted virtual pet devices.
Well, fans of the Japanese game are in luck because Tamagotchi has reeled in their first ever ambassador and it would be none other than Nickelodeon's Jennette McCurdy. Keeping up with the times, Tamagotchi has introduced their app, Tamagotchi L.i.f.e Tap & Hatch plus a new clothing line. Fans of the beloved game might also get a chance to win a shirt signed by Jennette. PopCrush has all the details.
On the other hand, McCurdy talked about the joys of playing Tamagotchi and its upcoming clothing line and app.
"Tamagotchis, were, for people around my age, were really, really big in pop culture. Everybody had one. All your friends them. If you didn't have one, you weren't living," stated McCurdy, adding, "They're fun and flirty and they're easy to wear, and comfortable. Every girl likes wearing a cute little outfit! I think it's super smart that Tamagotchi has their life lifestyle brand because it's a really cool way to throw back to the nostalgia of Tamagotchis and give everybody an opportunity to relive the fun of Tamagotchi and childhood and everything that Tamagotchi stands for. It's a great way to say that this is a part of me."
