It’s all about the money. Nickelodeon has not renewed “Sam & Cat” for a second season yet, and sources said it’s about salary dispute between Jennette McCurdy and the show’s bosses, and not about the 21-year-old actress’ leaked sexy selfies.

McCurdy took to Twitter to explain why she was absent at Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards, claiming that she was “put in an uncomfortable, compromising, unfair situation (many of you have guessed what it is) and I had to look out for me.”

It was assumed that she was referring to her leaked pictures, but as she cleared in her subsequent tweets, it was about something else.

My previous tweet has nothing to do with pics leaked.oh you guys lol

It has to do with how nickelodeon treated me. That's all. Thanks for the love. <3 — Jennette McCurdy (@jennettemccurdy) March 30, 2014

Nickelodeon also denied that the photos were the issue. However, the network also said that they are “wrapping up” the production of the show, which so far has only one season but with 40 episodes.

“The photos caused no issues between McCurdy and the network, and we have the utmost respect for her,” the network’s rep said.

“We are wrapping up what was an unusually long production cycle of ‘Sam & Cat,’ and everyone is understandably tired.”

The show hasn’t been renewed yet for another season, and with Nickelodeon’s statement, it appears that it will not get renewed at all.

But if it wasn’t about the sexy photos, then what is their alleged feud all about?

According to TMZ sources, the real issue was her salary. Her co-star, Ariana Grande, apparently makes “WAY MORE” than her, and the network wasn’t interested in renegotiating their deal.

That was allegedly the “unfair situation” that she was put in. She wanted a new deal with higher paycheck, but Nickelodeon didn’t budge.
