Jennifer Aniston is a celebrity that is known for her lovely locks.

According to Dailymail.co.uk, the celeb cut her hair short because it was damaged by a now popular hair straightening treatment called "The Brazilian Blowdry."

The said hair treatment contains chemicals such as formaldehyde and keratin in order for the hair to stay straight. There are many celebs that are into the hair treatment in order to keep their manes sleek and straight such as Julianne Moore, the Olsen twins and Uma Thurman.

According to celebrity stylist Oscar Blandi, the treatment is good to use for the right kind of hair but if you don't have strong hair, stay away from it. The Daily Mail further reports their interview with the hairstylist:

'I think the treatment on its own is generally effective, but you have to make sure the condition of the hair is right for it,'

Hair stylist Rachel Woods, who styles celebs such as Rosario Dawson and Vanessa Hudgens, said that the treatment is a lot more tiring and stressful than many think.

The make-up artist and hair stylist to the stars said in an interview with the Daily Mail that it doesn't really do much for a person's hair:

'Not all Brazilian treatments are created equal; many have chemicals which can eventually damage hair so I'm not surprised Jens doing the chop."

She had also accounted her own experience with the treatment and said that she wasn't a fan of how it made her hair look:

'I personally have naturally bushy hair and had the treatment done one summer but I found it left my bouncy locks a little flat,' she admitted.

According to reports, Aniston did talk about her hair problem. She had asked her hairstylist, who has been handling her hair since to cut it because of the damage that she had gotten from trying the hair treatment.

In an interview with Elle UK Aniston said:

'It wasn't for a role. My hair went through a phase, I did this thing called a Brazilian and my hair did not react really well to it.'
