"I think it's extremely important to forgive," Jennifer Aniston told the Harper's Bazaar in the interview for its December/January edition.
"Otherwise it just builds up like toxic waste. There's nothing worse than holding a grudge," the actress explains.
Based on this statement, several media outlets such as Hollywood Life and Celebuzz are speculating that the actress maybe hinting at forgiving ex-husband Brad Pitt's cheating with his current wife, Angelina Jolie. She goes on to say that people may commit unforgivable acts, but one must learn to let it go because human beings make mistakes.
Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt got married in 2000. The two became one of the most admired couples in Hollywood. However, things started to fall apart by the end of 2004. In the year 2005, the two announced separation and finalised their divorce.
Following her divorce, the actress dated a number of Hollywood celebrities such as Vince Vaughn and John Mayer before getting engaged to her "Wanderlust" co-star Justin Theroux. As for Brad Pitt, he moved on with Angelina Jolie and married her a few months back in a secret ceremony.
Following "Mr and Mrs Smith" couple's marriage, there have been claims of quarrels and rivalry between Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston. However, the "Horrible Bosses 2" actress admits that holding "resentment is like taking rat poison and waiting for the rat to die."
Furthermore, the actress gushed about her fiancé Justin Theroux in the interview with Harper's Bazaar. She described him as a humble and decent human being. However, she still hasn't revealed their wedding plans. Meanwhile, she admitted that her forties brought her the best time of her life.
