Jennifer Lawrence Against Twitter, Claims 'Internet Has Scorned’ Her
Jennifer Lawrence is apparently not a fan of Twitter, Instagram and other social media sites. The actress said in a recent interview that the "Internet has scorned" her so much that she has decided against joining Twitter.
Jennifer Lawrence, together with "Hunger Games" co-stars Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson, stopped into BBC's Radio 1 Breakfast Show on November 11 to chat with host Nick Grimshaw about their new movie, "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1." According to Telegraph UK Jennifer also revealed her lack of interest in social media and technology and vowed to "never get Twitter."
"I'm not very good on phone or technology. I cannot really keep up with emails so the idea of Twitter is so unthinkable to me," the 24-year-old actress said.
The "Hunger Games" star called the use of the social app as a "weird enigma that people talk about," which she herself doesn't really understand. Nick Grimshaw reportedly commented on her determination to stay away from social media, which promoted Jennifer Lawrence to reply that her determination is brought on by the Internet.
"It's because the internet has scorned me so much that I feel like it's that girl in high school that I'm like, 'Oh you want to talk about her? Yeah I'll do that!" the actress said on the show.
So don't expect to see Jennifer Lawrence joining the social media. The actress even warned fans that any Facebook, Twitter or Instagram account "that says it's me, it most certainly is not."
Jennifer Lawrence had her share of Internet "scorns" in the past months. The actress was among the victims of the massive hacking of celebrities nude iCloud photos dubbed as The Fappening. Talking to Vanity Fair, Lawrence claimed the leak of her nude photos was "not a scandal" but a "sexual violation." She blamed the Web sites for being responsible in the "disgusting sex crime" of posting her nude photos online. Not only did the actress vent out her frustration at the still unknown hacker. Jennifer Lawrence also called those who viewed her nude photos online as perpetuators of a sexual offense.
