Will Jennifer Lopez be the next judge at American Idol? The singing contest seemed to have turned upside down as it scrambles to fill in the vacancy made by the departure of its panel of judges. Now, Jennifer Lopez will reportedly bring some Latina flavor to the panel whose previous members are Simon Cowell, Ellen DeGeneres and Kara DioGuardi.

According to reports, Lopez had agreed for $12 million to sit as judge at the hit singing competion. Previously, Deadline.com claimed that Jennifer Lopez has been asking for $15 million to star on the American Idol, plus a guaranteed motion picture deal and a couple of TV pilots from Fox, Freenmantle, and 19 Entertainment, which produce the show.

Lopez' demands for a film and TV programs was turned down by the companies.

"I think it was just positioning. In the end, she didn't turn up her nose up at $12 million," said a source quoted by the West Australian.

This may seem to be so but other reports say that Jennifer Lopez is looking for ways to boost her career, after the star was dropped by Sony Music Epic Records last year.
