Jennifer Lopez Shares Ben Affleck Her Greatest Heartbreak, Marc Anthony A Rebound Romance
Jennifer Lopez experienced her greatest heartbreak not from any of her ex-husbands but from Ben Affleck. Moreover, she admits that her marriage to Marc Anthony happened too quickly and too fast, just like rebound relationships do.
The "Jenny from the Block" singer experienced her first big heartbreak not from her first marriage or even the second one. Splitting up with fiancé of four-months, Ben Affleck, admits Jennifer Lopez to Maria Shriver on an interview to be aired this week on "Today", is the one that affected her the most. Looking back, she now thinks her third husband, Marc Anthony, was a rebound romance.
After deciding to postpone their wedding because of "too much media exposure" just four days before their wedding, Jennifer Lopez quickly moved to the arms of Marc Anthony and they got married five months after. However, she's now quite sure that it was not a good decision. "To have one of my best friends who I'd known for years, who I actually love and did have chemistry with, come into my life and say, "I'm here." describes Jennifer Lopez of Marc Anthony. "What you need to know is, nobody can save you or heal you. Only you can do that for you." The marriage ended in 2011 after seven years. Still, the relationship allowed her to be the mom of her precious twins, Max and Emme, who are now six.
She already divulged to People Magazine that she was mentally, emotionally and verbally abused in the past, even though she never got a blackened eye. And although she did not name any names, she said she learned a lot from all her relationships. She also said that she's partly to blame for what happened to her. In fact, she said that it's probably all her own fault for not taking control and setting up "boundaries," as well as not doing anything to change how she was being treated. She said that people in abusive relationships have "the power to change it."
With her harrowing experiences with love, the actress said that she's now more inclined to being single for a while. She told Shriver that that she's open to love, but she'll rather be on her own for a while and try to find more about herself.
