Grey's Anatomy's Jackson Avery took a break from filming Thursday night to fulfill an ABC promise to fans of the series.

Jesse Williams, 31, gamely answered questions via Twitter. The guy's self-deprecating humour must have endeared more fans to Jackson Avery, the late Mark Sloan's protégé on the ABC drama.

A lot of questions raised were about Williams' job prior to acting. A son of teachers, Jesse had taught American Studies, African Studies and English at a Philadelphia public high school.

Williams' first major acting job was a supporting role in "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2." He joined Grey's Anatomy in 2009. While Grey's Anatomy was on summer break two months ago, Williams married his girlfriend of five years, Aryn Drake-Lee.
