Leslie Smith got an earful from Jessica Eye. The rocketing Eye was impressive during her technical knockout (TKO) win over Smith Saturday at UFC 180 held at Arena de Ciudad de Mexico.

The win was one of the more graphic images in the UFC when Eye delivered a right punch to the cauliflower ear of Smith which sputtered blood after contact. Referee Dean Herb and the medical team looked into the wound and declared a stoppage after determining the extent of the injury. The said ear was basically hanging and split into two after Eye delivered the devastating punch. Smith was however unhappy with the stoppage call and was even yelling to the crowd that she could continue on, but the visual of the ear made it clear that the doctors made the right call.

Eye made a lot of damage to that area on the first round when she connected with a flurry of jabs to the ear area. Smith was also effective in retaliating but "Evil" was able to deliver the harder shots, one fo which fell on the ear. Eye continued to pummel in that area intentionally which worked for her as the fight was stopped at the 1:30 mark of the second round and awarded her the win.

"When I connected and saw her ear blow up, that became my main target," Eye said per FOX Sports. "I was going to keep hitting it until they stopped the fight or it fell off. My goal is to be the first girl in the UFC to get a knockout win."

Eye claims after the win that she has notched the win and climbed another step in the ladder. The number 6th ranked bantamweight fighter is eyeing a bout no bigger than a title match against Ronda Rousey. She was furious with the way she has lost her last fight against Alexis Davis who defeated her via split decision in February at UFC 170. Davis went on to fight Rousey for the title in July, a shot Eye believes should have been hers. Now, with the win she believes just one more win and she can convince Dana White and company to give her a shot at the belt.
