The Jezabels: 'Prisoner' Australian Tour
Sydney's indie darlings tour Australia with latest album
October and November of this year will find Sydney band 'The Jezabels' touring Australia on the back of the release of their first full album, 'Prisoner'. The album will be released Sep. 16. The tour will commence at Caloundra Music Festival Oct. 7. and finish up at Perth's Astor Theatre Nov. 4.
The band has developed a steady following thanks to their powerful live performances, fronted by energetic songstress Hayley Mary. Preceding their album 'Prisoner' the band had released three EP's over the course of 2009 and 2010, receiving much critical acclaim in the process. Commercial acclaim followed with two singles from their EP's having been the Australian iTunes single of the week and their latest EP, 'Dark Storm', debuted at number 1 in the Australian iTunes album chart. They have also had the true Aussie stamp of approval with two songs featuring in the Triple J Hottest 100, 2010.
The first single of the new album, 'Endless Summer', can be heard across radio stations at the moment and if the song is a sign of things to come then there are high hopes for 'Prisoner'. The single, unsurprisingly has a distinctive summer tinge to it and captures everything that is great about the band's music. The single is anthemic, with a powerful chorus complemented beautifully by lead singer Hayley Mary's emotive vocal style.
The album is out to buy from 16 Sep. but if it is pre-ordered prior to that date then fans can get a bonus CD featuring early demo's and unreleased tracks. To see the real 'Jezabels' experience though, be sure to catch them at their live shows, with the band playing Sydney's Enmore Theatre on Oct. 21.
