Jill Meagher's Husband Tom Upset, Adult Parole Board of Victoria Unable to Respond to His Email
Jill Meagher's husband Tom had important questions to the Adult Parole Board of Victoria. In particular, he wanted to know the criteria for the release of his wife's suspected rapist and killer, Adrian Ernest Bayley. But after a month, Tom Meagher received no response.

In a report published by ABC, Mr Meagher on June 24 wrote the board five questions. All the questions were about the parole granted to Adrian Bayley.
"Did social factors enter into your decision to release Bayley, specifically the fact that his victims were sex workers? If not (I know you will deny this,) can you please explain your irresponsible leniency toward a repeat offender of such brutality?" This was one of Mr Meagher's questions.
Bayley, 41, was arrested last year after police found a CCTV footage that linked him to the disappearance and subsequent murder of Jill Meagher, from Brunswick. Meagher's case was one of Australia's worst crimes in 2012.
Mr Meagher received no response after five days. So he wrote again to say: "Brilliant. Thanks for your thorough, and well thought out responses." The same mail contained more upset words. He ended it by saying, "You have failed, not only to answer my very direct questions, but to respond with even a bog standard template email. Your silence speaks volumes."
Mr Meagher brought his mails to the public and drew Australia's attention. The Adult Parole Board of Victoria said it usually responds to emails within 24 hours. But Mr Meagher's two emails were reportedly missed due to a spam filter. The board added, its IT department is looking into its mailing history.

In reaction, The Premier, Denis Napthine, said Mr Meagher "should have every reason to be very disappointed that his emails haven't been dealt with and dealt with appropriately."
Quoted by ABC news, Victoria Police Chief Commissioner Ken Lay said he could only imagine what Mr Meagher was going through.
"The Premier has made the point that the system has let Tom Meagher and the family down," Mr Napthine said.
