J.J. Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan Post Video Selfie on “Star Wars” Day

"Star Wars" fans got a surprise greeting from J.J. Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan, wishing everyone celebrating May the fourth. They gave a hint of where things stand in terms of production and script for the upcoming movie.

Many fans across the globe celebrate May 4 as "Star Wars" day and wish each other by saying "May the fourth be with you." The phrase is similar to the greeting used by the Jedi in the movies who say "May the force be with you."

J.J. Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan posted the video selfie from London and said that they miss their families in California, U.S. They however said that they feel fortunate to be working on the next "Star Wars" script.

Casting news is expected to continue according to the video as they ramp up the production. Earlier the first list of the cast members for the upcoming "Star Wars" 7 was announced, which included some of the cast from the original trilogy.

The cast of the original "Star Wars" trilogy who will be coming back for the upcoming movie include Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker. They will be joined by John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson and Max von Sydow.

The upcoming "Star Wars" 7 movie was rumoured to be set a few years after the "Star Wars" Return of The Jedi movie. Fans feel that the return of Harrison Ford and other veteran actors confirm their suspicion.

There have been several books written for this specific time period but many fans feel that the script of "Star Wars" 7 may be an original work and may not follow the books. This would give the fans an element of suspense of the things to come in future movies.

The screenplay is being written by J.J Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan, J.J. Abrams will also be producing the upcoming movie along with Bryan Burk. John Williams will be returning as the composer, he was engaged as the composer for some of the previous movies and games of the "Star Wars" franchise.

Will J.J Abrams be able to meet fans' expectations on "Star Wars" 7? He will be directing the upcoming movie and all eyes will be on him. Fans are trying to get as much information as possible to get a hint of the storyline and things to expect in the movie.
