J.K. Rowling Anagram Decoded -- It’s Not a New ‘Harry Potter’ Book
J.K. Rowling explained her cryptic tweets that many fans believed to be a hint at a new "Harry Potter" book. The tweets were however about the upcoming movie "Fantastic Bests and Where to Find Them," which is also based in the same magical universe.
"Harry Potter" fans got excited when J.K. Rowling posted a tweet that read "Cry, Foe! Run amok! Fa awry! My wand won't tolerate this nonsense." It was quickly realised that this was an anagram, a way of hiding the real message by rearranging the letters in the sentence.
Fans who tried hard to find a way for the sentence to mean that J.K. Rowling was bringing back "Harry Potter" were quickly told by the author that the message had little to do with the fictional character. In separate tweets she guided her followers towards the upcoming movie "Fantastic Bests and Where to Find Them."
The solution for the anagram was decoded by Emily Strong, a PhD student at the University of Sheffield. The anagram message actually states "Newt Scamander Only Meant to Stay in New York for a few hours." J.K. Rowling later confirmed that the character will be staying in New York throughout the movie.
The upcoming movie is based on the adventures of the fictional writer Newt Scamander. The movie is set in a time period of seventy years before the "Harry Potter" movies. The story will take the writer to meet the secret community of witches and wizards in New York.
The movie will be directed by David Yates, who has directed four "Harry Potter" movies since 2007. The other TV movies he directed include "The Girl in the Cafe," "Sex Traffic" and "The Young Visiters." He is currently busy directing the movie "Tarzan," slated to be released in 2016.
The movie "Fantastic Bests and Where to Find Them" is also slated to be released in 2016. The script of the movie is being written by J.K. Rowling. The anagram message released by the author was the first sentence of a synopsis of the movie. More details about the plot and casting news are awaited. "Harry Potter" fans are excited about the new movie that will take them back to their favourite land of witches and wizards.
