Joan Rivers' Doctor Subpoenead In John Ritter's Wrongful Death
Dr. Gwen Korovin, Joan Rivers' doctor came under fire for allegedly taking a selfie when the comedienne was under anesthesia. She had denied it and said that CNN's source is lying, but it seems that the doctor is was also part of another high-profile celebrity death. A new report claims that the doctor was subpoenaed when the family of John Ritter charged doctors for negligence in treating the actor who died of an aortic dissection back in 2013.
Dr. Gwen Korovin is renowned ear, nose and throat specialist, who has a famous client list, such as Lady Gaga, Hugh Jackman and Celine Dion. This is why, it was quite unfortunate that Joan Rivers passed away while undergoing a throat procedure under this doctor. Many got angry when it was reported that the doctor also took a selfie while Rivers was under anesthesia. Seconds after snapping that selfie, Joan succumbs to a coma and died days after. While investigators are still on the case, In Touch Weekly is now reporting that the doctor was subpoena for the John Ritter case along with other doctors, but she somehow managed to avoid being served.
A source shared to the magazine: "She, or people close to her, refused to accept service of the subpoena. The source shared that the doctor denied having treated Ritter and the lawyers seemed to have taken the denial at face value. The lawyers dropped it and never sent another subpoena.
This news aggravates the case against the doctor. Korovin is still facing a lot of uncomfortable questions regarding what truly transpired in the Manhattan clinic where Rivers had her surgery back last August 28. She has already denied performing unauthorized biopsy against the E! talk show host, but the questions are still incoming.
The doctor has some supporters though, especially among her patients. TMZ reports that the patients of the doctor never experienced anything negative from her. They also said the doctor has an "unblemished record," making her one of the dependable ENT in New York.
