Jennifer Lawrence has made an enemy for life when she condemned the U.S. show “Fashion Police.” The show’s host Joan Rivers is still seething over “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” star’s remarks, saying the actress “has been touched up more than a choir boy at the Vatican.”

In November, the 23-year-old Academy Award-winning actress drew the ire of the 80-year-old comedienne after saying that the latter’s E! show was part of a culture that promotes body-shaming and superficiality.

During a press interview, an audience member asked the actress what she thought about those who judge others base on their looks. Jennifer started her reply with, “Screw those people.”

“The world has a certain idea. We see this airbrushed perfect model... You just have to look past it. You look how you look. What are you going to do, be hungry every single day to make other people happy? That’s just dumb.”

She continued, “Shows like the ‘Fashion Police’ and things like that are just showing these generations of young people to judge people based on all the wrong values and that it’s okay to point at people and call them ugly or fat. They call it ‘fun’ and they say ‘welcome to the real world’ – and that shouldn’t be the real world.”

Joan responded with a series of scathing attacks on Twitter, calling the younger star “arrogant.”

“It’s funny how Jennifer Lawrence loved @E_FashionPolice during Awards Season when we were complimenting her every single week,” she twitted.

“But now that she has a movie to promote, suddenly we’re picking on all those poor, helpless actors.

“WAIT! It just dawned on me why Jennifer Lawrence fell on her way up to the stage to get her Oscar. She tripped over her own arrogance.”

Jennifer had no answer to that, probably because she didn’t need to. A large percentage of Internet users already sided with her so there’s no need for her to defend her statement; the Internet has already done that for her.

And besides, being the universally loved “It” girl of her generation also helped, especially as she was up against Rivers, whose brand of humour is only funny to a select few.

But the feud doesn’t end there, or at least Joan doesn’t want it to just end. The octogenarian, who has been open about undergoing multiple cosmetic surgeries in the past, still isn’t finished with Jennifer.

She told NY Post’s Page Six, “My New Year’s resolution is [ensuring] Jennifer Lawrence grows up and realises how luck she is and calms down.

“I love that she’s telling everyone how wrong it is to worry about retouching and body image, and meanwhile, she has been touched up more than a choir boy at the Vatican. Look at her posters. She doesn’t have a nose, she has two holes. She just has to learn, don’t talk if you’re doing it.”

Jennifer was indeed photoshopped a lot of times before, but, as online commenters pointed out, none of those instances were done with her explicit consent.

She is an “amazing actress,” though, Joan conceded, adding that Jennifer is “the next Meryl Streep.”
