The Australian job market showed signs of improving as vacancies in November 2010 reached 190,200, a rise of 5.3 percent from August 2010 according to the latest figures released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

Of those job vacancies in Australia, 172, 500 were from the private sector and 17,700 were from the public sector. The number of vacancies in the private sector were up by 5.5 percent compared to figures taken in August while Australian job vacancies in the public sector rose by 4.1 percent during the same period.

The job vacancies survey was resumed in November 2009 after being called in 2008 due to budget constraints. Overall, job vacancies improved by 26.3 percent in November 2010 compared to November 2009 figures.
