Joel Kinnaman Opens Up About 'In Treatment' Kissing Scene, Praises 'Suicide Squad' Sequel
Swedish-American actor Joel Kinnaman has spoken about his kissing scene with Uzo Aduba in the new season of HBO's "In Treatment" and praised the "insane" sequel of "Suicide Squad."
During his guesting on this week's episode of the "Just for Variety" podcast, the 41-year-old actor discussed the first day of filming the Emmy-winning drama series' fourth season.
"The first day we had a big kissing scene," Kinnaman recalled. "And she [Aduba] whispered to me, 'Have you done this before?' And I was like, 'Done what?' And she was like, 'You know.' And I was like, 'Oh, you mean kissing? On camera?' She was like, 'Yeah.'"
"I was like, 'You've never done that before?' She was like, 'No,'" the actor added. "I was like, 'Okay, yeah I've done it a lot. It'll be fine. Just go with the flow.' So that's one of the ways that us actors get to know each other really close really quick."
Aduba plays the role of Dr. Brooke Taylor, a therapist, in the drama series. Kinneman, on the other hand, stars as her boyfriend Adam.
Kinnaman is currently filming the third season of the "For All Mankind" drama series and later this year, he will reprise Rick Flagg's character in "The Suicide Squad" sequel.
"The Suicide Squad" is helmed by James Gunn and the actor couldn't stop praising the upcoming movie, which is slated for release on Aug. 6.
The actor even revealed that he had seen the movie a couple of days ago. According to him, it is, by far, the best movie of Gunn.
"It just takes it to another level," he explained. "It's an insane film. At the same time, it was very much the movie that I thought it was going to be because the vision was so clear from the beginning. While we were shooting it, it was so clear what we were doing."
"It's so entertaining," the actor added. "I'm of course hopelessly biased, but I found it to be one of the most entertaining films I've ever seen. From A to Z, it's so well-paced, it has such a drive and such comedic timing."
"The Suicide Squad" is currently under post-production.
Kinnaman was last seen in the drama-thriller "The Secrets We Keep" and the crime drama "Brothers by Blood." Both movies came out last year.
