John Mayer announced some bad news through his blog that would surely make his fans sad. He is cancelling his tour to give way for the treatment of his vocal cord injury.

According to the report made by USA Today, the singer has a granuloma right on his vocal cord just last fall and it has gotten back.

He mentioned in his blog that he has no other choice but to take a leave, which does not allow him to tell when he will be able to get back. The singer even explained his current health condition that when the granuloma forms, it will become a snowball right on the spot on the vocal cords.

Hence, when he sings and the vocal cords hit each other, it requires an intense kind of treatment and he has to rest from what he does to give it time to heal.

It was just during the early parts of this month when he announced the release date of his brand new album entitled 'Born and Raised.' It will be out in the market by May 22. The fiirst single from it called 'Shadow Days' can already be heard over at iTunes.

John continues to give hope to a lot of his supporters that someday all these will be behind him but for now he has to face it without having the need to do some count down on when he will be back .

But for now, John Mayer is on indefinite leave in the music industry.
