Two years after famously slipping private details about ex-girlfriend, Jessica Simpson in a magazine interview, John Mayer now regrets sharing too much.

Not only was he then famous for his music but he was also popular for his many loose lips moments when talking about his relationships. Earning his bad reputation for kissing and telling, it seems like John Mayer wants to turn his life around as he says he regrets spilling too much information about his exes.

"I had nothing to say. I was going through a time in my life where I didn't really want to share what was going on, but I didn't want to be boring," he said in an interview with NPR's All Things Considred.

The 34-year-old singer and composer who aims to resurrect his music career with his new album, "Born and Raised," admits that he had done those mistakesin order to be 'liked.'

"I remember thinking to myself, 'We gotta give a Rolling Stone interview, I don't want anybody at Playboy to think this is a boring interview,'" he said. "I completely lost sight of what the original plan was, which is to make music for anybody who wants to hear it. There was a part of me that was dead, a certain thoughtfulness that was gone," the singer added.

During his Playboy interview two years ago, he confessed intimate details about his sexual relationship with ex-girlfriend, Jessica Simpson.

"That girl, for me, is a drug. And drugs aren't good for you if you do lots of them. Yeah, that girl is like crack cocaine to me. Sexually it was crazy. That's all I'll say. It was like napalm, sexual napalm," Mayer said in the Playboy interview without restrictions.

And then he also opened up about his relationship with the obviously-private, Jennifer Aniston, saying that he has not gotten over the actress. He also added that his break up with Jen was one of the worst times of his life.
