John Mellencamp Still Pining For 'Beautiful' And 'Funny' Meg Ryan
John Mellencamp is not over Meg Ryan. He said it's difficult to let go of such a "funny girl."
Meg Ryan and John Mellencamp ended their relationship quietly because of a simple reason: distance. Meg lives in New York while John lives in Indiana and could not bear to call New York his home. However, John is now saying "nothing's over" and would not "ever quit on anything."
In his interview with Associated Press, Mellencamp, 62, shared that he's grateful to have spent three years with someone beautiful and funny, words he used to describe his ex, Meg Ryan, 52.
"I'm very happy with the time I've spent with Meg Ryan," the 62-year-old "Troubled Man" shared the singer to the Associated Press. "She's a beautiful girl and I know that I will never, ever, ever be with a funnier girl than her. Not gonna happen. I'm grateful for the three-and-a-half years we've been together," he detailed.
Moreover, he's beyond just grateful for the three years he had with Meg Ryan. It seems now that the singer is not over Meg, too and can see himself getting back with her.
Nothing's over," he said, when perused about his current status with Meg. "Nothing's over. I never say die for anything. Do you ever quit on anything?"
He may not be quitting on anything now, but he once shared that he cannot compromise living in Indiana and move to New York to solve their distance issues. He told Rolling Stone this back on December. He said, he does not like seeing poor and suffering people and dirty streets. This is why he is not leaving Indiana and plans to die there. He said he does not like the bustling city for Meg Ryan, too.
Currently, the singer is busy with writing a new song entitled, "Troubled Man." He said it's taking him a lot longer that he usually spend on a song because he's not ready to finish it and that he's too old to write about girls at his age now.
The "Harry Met Sally" star has yet to react to this sweet profession.
