John Travolta may have been the target of numerous sexual harassment cases and a gamut of gay issues but he is all set to be seen in a new movie.

'Savages' is an Oliver Stone movie where he plays the role of a corrupt drug enforcement agent. Its main plot is about the fight between growers of Marijuana and a drug cartel owned by Mexicans. As usual, Travolta plays the bad guy role who has the charisma even if he is not one of the lead characters in this one.

It will be this weekend that the award winning actor is expected to appear before the media since the time that all the controversial headlines broke out about the actor. A close source said that these issues did not get in the way of the promotion of the new film that he is in.

Up to this point, Travolta has not addressed any of the sexual claims and lawsuits that have put his name to shame. With all his representatives simply denying the allegations, many critics say that it is less likely for any of these issues to affect the press release efforts of the new film.

The other stars of the film include Salma Hayek and Benicio del Toro.

Other Celebrities Who Got Involved In Controversial Cases With A New Film In Line

It is not Travolta alone who experienced such a coincidence of having a new film and at the same time was involved in a controversy.

There was also Mel Gibson battling domestic violence cases as he was promoting 'The Beaver.' Hugh Grant then was settling a lewd conduct case with a prostitute as he was preparing to release the movie 'Nine Months.'

Good thing Travolta's role is not one of the leads where the main spotlight is on. This could be the only saving grace he has.
