'John Wick: Chapter 2': Keanu Reeves’ character goes to Rome to take on killers in international assassin's guild
The official synopsis of “John Wick: Chapter 2” has been released online. According to the plot, Keanu Reeves’ character will be travelling to Rome in the next season and take on expert killers in an international assassin’s guild.
Reeves will be reprising his role as the legendary hitman who retired from his old profession, but is forced to come back. The 2014 movie of the character was a big hit at the box office, leading to the sequel.
In the forthcoming movie, John will once again be forced to return from his retirement to help an old friend, Collider reports. John’s former associate is plotting to take over a shadowy international assassin's guild.
John will have to travel to Rome in the forthcoming movie, where he will encounter “the world’s deadliest killers.” The 2014 movie showed him to be a solitary man with extraordinary skills to kill. In the movie, he was shown to have retired after helping a man build his empire, by killing all his enemies.
“John Wick: Chapter 2” appears to be promising even more action, with the skillful hitman facing formidable adversaries. Director Chad Stahelski will be returning to helm the movie, along with Derek Kolstad as the writer. Both Stahelski and Kolstad worked for the 2014 movie.
The cast members of the movie include Ian McShane (Winston), Laurence Fishburne (The Bowler King), John Leguizamo (Aurelio), Lance Reddick (Charon), Ruby Rose, Peter Stormare, Common and Thomas Sadoski. The casting of Bridget Moynahan as Helen Wick suggests that there will be some flashback scenes in the movie.
Reeves’ character in the 2014 movie was shown to be suffering depression after the death of his wife. Details about the wife and how she died may be revealed when “John Wick: Chapter 2” is released on Feb. 10, 2017. The release date of the movie in Australia is yet to be announced.
