Johnny Depp ditches cell phones for online messaging
Johnny Depp does not own a cell phone. Fans won't see any cell phones on him as he attends the international movie premiere of The Tourist where he stars opposite Angelina Jolie, nor will they see him talking someone on the phone while shooting for his latest Pirates of the Caribbean movie.
Does this reduce the Hollywood actor's appeal? Not likely, as he already have two Sexiest Man Alive title to vouch for him. Fortunately, Depp is very internet savvy. The Alice in Wonderland actor uses e-mail to get in touch with his friends, family and business associates.
According to reports, Johhny Depp refuses to carry cell phones around and views online messaging such as e-mail as more safer, and interesting as compared to using the mobile phone. The actor strongly feels that it is liberating to simply be out of reach.
"We have internet and stuff like that because I think that's the safest form, well, most interesting form of communication," the Hollywood actor told Access Hollywood.
"I just don't like phones, I just don't like them. Being reachable all the time... You'd have to know how to just buzz me on the internet or something."
Johnny Depp will next be seen in The Tourist, directed by Oscar winner Florin Henckel von Donnersmarck. In the movie, an American tourist played by Johnny Depp is used by Angelina Jolie's character in an attempt to flush out a criminal with whom she once had an affair. The Tourist is will open publicly on theatres on December 10th, after having its premiere this week.
