Johnny Depp and Ricky Gervais' Square Off
The scoreboard says one all as Johnny Depp finally gets his shot of revenge against Ricky Gervais.
Ricky Gervais best known as the sarcastic, cocky Brit, last hosted the 2011 Golden Globes where of course everything he said caught 200 million viewers by surprise. Among his victims was the Golden Globe winner for the 2008 movie - Sweeney Todd, Johnny Depp.
What was Gervais' famous words that caught Johnny Depp and his co-actor Angelina Jolie by surprise?
"It was a big year for 3D Movies like Toy Story, Despicable Me, Tron. It seemed like everything this year was three-dimensional well except of course for the characters in Tourist" joked Gervais. "I tell you what, I'm jumping on the bandwagon, because I haven't even seen The Tourist. Who has?"
Complete dialogue of Gervais' sarcastic retorts and jokes at the Golden Globes can be found here.
After Ricky Gervais' comedic banter, who would've expect Johnny Depp to make a daring comeback?
In the cheeky Brit's upcoming comedy series of Life is Too Short, Depp guest stars alongside Warwick Davis as head of talent agency for "little" people. Depp makes an effort to rub his massive success in the face of Gervais while flicking his cigarette into Gervais' glass.
Depp even manages to boast his new project, "Dark Shadows", directed by the famous Tim Burton before threatening Gervais.
"I want you to know this and I want you to carry this with you for the rest of your days," warns Depp. "No one makes fun of Tim Allen on my watch and gets away with it." Depp definitely got a shot at defending Tim Allen who along with Robert Downey Jr. and Carlie Sheen were among the few celebrities Gervais managed to mock at the Golden Globes.
So what did Gervais make out of Depp's threats? A tweet of the clip and a second post featuring him and Depp attempting to shove Warwick Davis into a toilet.
Telling people not to get the wrong idea about the both of them being at war when it's just for laughs. Speaking of laughs, make sure to watch out for Life's Too Short Debut on November 10 on BBC Two and on HBO on February 2012.
