Johnny Depp Signs Up To ‘Pirates of The Caribbean 5’ For A Huge Pay [PHOTOS]
Hollywood actor Johnny Depp has reportedly signed up once again in portraying the famous Captain Jack Sparrow in the fifth "Pirates of The Caribbean" film. What could be surprising about that? Well, it is the detail of his rumored new contract of an enviable $116 million that Mr Depp will pocket for the movie sequel.
The 49-year-old actor could not possibly jump away from the ship given the success of the other "Pirates of The Caribbean" blockbuster films which took a combined $1.6 billion worldwide.
"Johnny is being very careful he does not sign on for too many films," an insider told The Sun. "He doesn't want to ruin his career with over exposure like John Travolta or what Nic Cage did. This huge deal for Pirates means he will be able to pick his other roles very carefully on the strength of their script rather than their salary," the insider further shared.
In October 2011, Johnny Depp admitted that he would do another "Pirates" film if it comes up.
"Basically, if they're going to pay me the stupid money right now, I'm going to take it," Depp said in a Vanity Fair interview. "I have to. I mean, it's not for me. Do you know what I mean? At this point, it's for my kids. It's ridiculous, yeah, yeah. But ultimately is it for me? No. No. It's for the kids," the actor further said.
Obviously, Johnny Depp will have to work hard and have his mind set in earning money in order to support his two children, Lily-Rose and John "Jack" Christopher, with his now ex-partner French singer and actress Vanessa Paradis.
The Hollywood superstar father is making wise decisions in his career so that the future of his kids will be secured. The movie project was reportedly thought carefully and thoroughly by Johnny Depp so that the actor's worth does not decrease.
Meanwhile, film producer Jerry Bruckheimer has confirmed last year that a script for the fifth "Pirates of The Caribbean" film was already in the works. In the mean time, Johnny Depp has been busy in filming Disney's remake of "The Lone Ranger" which is due for a release in July 2013.
