Hollywood actor Johnny Depp made a surprise appearance at Meridian Primary School in Greenwich, taking a break from shooting the latest Pirates of the Caribbean film in London. Depp was in full pirate costume as he visited the school at the entreaty of a "budding pirate."

Depp made the visit in response to a note addressed to Captain Jack Sparrow (his character in the Pirates of the Caribbean) where nine-year old Beatrice Delap said:

"Captain Jack Sparrow, At Meridian Primary School, we are a bunch of budding young pirates and we were having a bit of trouble mutiny-ing against the teachers, and we'd love if you could come and help."

As reported in United Kingdom's Daily Mail, Johnny Depp's trip to Meridian Primary School was not known until 10 minutes before Depp arrived. However, Meridian Primary School administrators acted swiftly to get everything in order for the arrival of Captain Jack Sparrow to meet the students.

During the visit, Johnny Depp asked Beatrice Delap to come forward and gave the "budding pirate" a hug. Depp also showed Beatrice's letter that she wrote to Capt. Jack Sparrow.
