A beautiful bond and an inspiration film take Hollywood Actress Angelina Jolie to Australia. As a film director, she is delighted to rekindle the life story of American Hero Louie Zamperini in "Unbroken."

The Oscar-winning actress has released the first picture of the film and received good reviews about her friendship with Zamperini.

A Glimpse Of the Story

Zamperini, a legendary Olympic athlete, is a World War II prisoner who survived brutality and gruesome experiences during his youth. He ran in the Olympics 1930, then later joined the Air Force. He figured in a plane crash in 1943 where eight men were killed. He was among the three survivors. After 47 days of struggling through Pacific, he was captured by Japanese forces. He attended brute Japanese prisoner-of-war camp. Overcoming the horrors of the past, he emerged as a spiritual and forgiving person. He forgave those who inflicted harm against him.

Jolie's Praise For Zamperini

Jolie reveres Zamperini. They were neighbors in Hollywood Hills. They are now working together on this film. The time spent knowing this heroic figure was a learning experience to the actress.

"He has made me a better person," Jolie said. "It will be hard to make a film worthy of this great man. I am deeply honored to have the chance and will do all I can to bring Zamperini's inspiring story to life" she added.

The Film "Unbroken"

About 55 years ago, the Universal Pictures had bought the rights to Zamperini's story. It was set to be produced by Tony Curtis but filming never started. After a long hiatus, the story will now be directed by Jolie.

The story was first adapted by Laura Hillenbrand into a best-seller, "Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience and Redemption." The book was a success in bringing peace to the people who have gone through dreadful experiences as noted by Jolie.

The film will be shot near New South Wales and Queensland and some parts of Sydney and Tamworth. TV show actor of "Skins" Jack O' Connell will be playing Zamperini in the film.

Zamperini's Views For Jolie

Zamperini, 96, believes that Jolie is a "human dynamo." He feels that she would tell his story in the most appropriate manner and will give justice to it. He anticipates that the film will have greater impact on the audience than the book. The movie will be released sometime in January 2015 in Australia and December 2014 in U.S. by Universal Pictures.
