The Jonas Brothers Paved Way to Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift's Friendship: 'Taylor and I dated Jonas bothers together'

All thanks to the Jonas Brothers, the unbreakable bond between Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift had been born. For those living under a rock the past few years, Selena Gomez dated Nick Jonas while Taylor Swift dated Joe Jonas. Thanks to their relationship with the boys, the BFF pair was born.

Who would have thought that thanks to getting their hearts broken by the Jonas Brothers, Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez would become the best of friends? Of course, before both singers called it quits with Joe and Nick, Swift and Gomez had already been chummy.

""Taylor and I dated Jonas bothers together," said Selena in an interview with The Mirror, adding, "We met when she was 18. I was 15 or 16. She was so great to me. Then we became best friends. She would fly out to see me when I was going through something really hard. We'd eat a lot of fattening food and vent."

Aside from pigging out a lot, Selena also learned a lot from Swift with regards to music.

"I learnt a lot from her. She's an amazing musician," revealed Gomez, adding, "Everything I go through or say is filtered through her eyes and vision."

Both Swift and Gomez's relationship with the Jonas Brothers' failed to reach one year. Yet, thanks to their split from the boys, not only was a bond formed but awesome break-up songs which led to a rise in their career.

Now that both Selena and Taylor are single, would these girls be dating another group of famous brothers or singers in the biz? Rumour has it back when Taylor Swift was dating Harry Styles, Taylor tried to play the "match maker" between Selena and Niall Horan. Obviously, the plan back fired because Niall wasn't one to date the ex-girlfriend of a good friend, Justin Bieber.

Nowadays, Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift are both busy working on their careers. Dating hasn't crossed both singers' mind. For Swift, the country crooner admitted her dating style has been one heck of a failure.

"I think it needs to change. I think I need to sit it out for a while so it can change. My friends tease me about the fact that if someone seems bad or shady or like they have a secret, I find them incredibly interesting. That's just a phase I've been in lately. I don't think this should be how I proceed in life. It's important to be self-aware about these things because you don't want to end up with that guy," stated Swift.
