Joseph Gordon-Levitt will sure get busy for the filming of his next big project “The Dark Knight Rises”.

Gordon-Levitt said Access Hollywood will reunite with his 'Inception' director, Christopher Nolan, as “Alberto Falcone, AKA “The Holiday Killer”. Falcone is the son of Gotham crime boss, Carmine Falcone.

The 30-year-old actor has had a number of films and television projects to his credit though he started out in television commercials and musical groups in stage performances.

After a few television commercials as a young child, Gordon-Levitt had a break in some television films and series including “Dark Shadows”. In 1992, Gordon-Levitt had a film debut in “Beethoven”, then he appeared in ‘A River Runs Through It” before he landed a starring role in the 1994 movie, “Angels in the Outfield' said Roger Bomman.

He then co-starred "3rd Rock from the Sun" from 1996 to 2001 as young Tommy Solomon and landed a major supporting role in “10 Things I Hate About You”, starring late actor, Heath Ledger and Julia Stiles.

More teen movies and television series came his way before he went on hiatus to attend Columbia University. Some of these include, ‘The Juror’, ‘Halloween: H2O’, and one of the lead voices in the animated film, ‘Treasure Planet’.

When he came back in 2001, the actor has received praises for his participation in a number of indie films where he showed power in acting including ‘Manic’, (2001), ‘Mysterious Skin’ (2004) and ‘Brick’ (2005).

The American actor landed a lead role in 2009, ‘(500) Days of Summer’ which gained him a nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy.

But Inception (2010) is considered Gordon-Levitt’s most successful film to his credit. In the film, Gordon-Levitt played the role of Arthur, who starred opposite Inception’s lead actor, Leonardo DiCaprio. Originally offered to James Franco, Gordon-Levitt’s acted DiCaprio’s ‘Point Man’ and his partner and the one responsible for researching the team’s gadget.

The film which was No.1 in the box office for three consecutive weeks has made over $800 million and is believed to be Gordon-Levitt’s most successful film as of today. It is also one of his major roles in films before he landed as the villainous killer in "The Dark Knight Rises", which will hit the theaters on July 20, 2012.
