John Green's best-selling novel, "The Fault in Our Stars," is once again included in the highly anticipated film adaptations of 2014. An official cast was already announced, but there was no word if the film would definitely come out by next year. Thankfully, lead star Shailene Woodley and Director Josh Boone open up about the much-awaited movie.

Shailene Woodley wasn't the first choice for fans for the role of Hazel Grace Lancaster for the film adaptation of "The Fault in Our Stars." Author John Green would know given he's had a barrage of fan mail on his Tumblr account asking why it had to be Shailene. Of course, Green had his witty answers to such questions.

"[I] loved what she did. She made me cry, and TFiOS-related things basically never make me cry, on account of how I know what's going to happen and everything," stated Green on his official Tumblr account.

If anything, Shailene truly deserved the role of Hazel Grace given she was a "true fan" of Green's novel. In a report by Perez Hilton, Woodley had allegedly "begged" John Green for the role.

"I'm obsessed with you and your book," wrote Woodley, adding, "And I would do anything to be a part of it. Please let me audition for you."

Thankfully, the hard work paid off for Woodley. The "Descendants" star had officially nabbed the role of Hazel Grace and would star opposite Ansel Elgort who plays Augustus Waters. As for the film, rumour has it that "The Fault in Our Stars" might not even come out by next year.

"I have no idea," said Boone on his Tumblr account, adding, "I don't think I'll be done editing/finishing the film until March of next year."

Reports from the Pittsburgh Gazette did claim that the film adaptation might not even hit theatres by 2015. Still, Ansel Elgort's July 28 tweet about the shoot starting in 3 weeks gave fans hope that the film might just come out by 2014.

As for other cast members of the film adaptation of "The Fault in Our Stars", Natt Wolff, who had initially been eyed for the role of Gus Waters, joined the cast as Gus's best friend, Isaac. Laura Dern also joined the film as Hazel Grace Lancaster's mother.
