Josh Brolin says 'full Thanos' appearance will happen 'soon'
Thanos made his debut appearance at the end of “The Avengers” in 2012. Then he appeared as a hologram sitting on his throne in “Guardians of the Galaxy” during a conversation with Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace). There have been little details as to when the Mad Titan will appear in the flesh in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or MCU. However, Josh Brolin (Thanos) recently teased that fans may not have to wait long as Thanos will fully appear very soon.
Brolin recently sat down with Comingsoon.net to talk about his new film “Sicario,” where he was also asked to share some details about his Marvel character. In the video interview released by the site, Josh was quizzed on when he will go “full Thanos” in the MCU.
“I think it’s ‘gonna be fairly soon and I know it’s gonna be good. I’m very pleased about that whole trajectory and all the possibilities,” he said.
Josh didn’t exactly say when fans will see Thanos in his full titan glory in the MCU. The actor remained coy but sounded confident of how “good” his character’s presence will be.
In the same interview with Comingsoon.net, Brolin also talked about how he was immediately drawn to play Thanos. His decision to portray the character reportedly came easy, and which he said he’s happy about. Josh recalled he was in England filming for “Everest” while still trying to make the decision to play Thanos.
“Strangely enough- I’m always surprised by what I decide to do right away and what you say no to especially in hindsight, Thanos was almost immediate. I looked through a book that they had sent me and was like ‘God this is amazing,’” he said.
The actor likewise talked about Thanos during a recent interview with MTV’s Joshua Horowitz. In the video below, Josh said the character “came to me” and recalled getting this “huge book of all his stuff” in it. Josh said halfway through the book he decided, “I’m so in it.”
Brolin also talked about how Thanos will appear on screen after he was asked on whether he wants to appear in CGI or in makeup for his character. “I know some of it is mo-cap so I’m in front of all these cameras. But there is total interaction. It’s really nerve-wracking but in an exciting way,” he said.
