Juan Manuel Marquez wants two more fights before he retires from boxing for good. Marquez is also reportedly eyeing to win his fifth world title before he bows down and leaves the boxing ring, which has been his home for more than 20 years as a professional boxer.

"Right now, I'm knocking on the door of retirement," Marquez told Boxing Scene. "But I want to have two more fights," he added. Retiring from a career can really a disheartening undertaking. According to the Mexican fighter, his family and his team as well as the people who have remain supportive of him will greatly influence his retirement decisions. "Behind that decision is my family, my team, and the people who are with you always," said Marquez. "If I decided to do that at this point, I will retire satisfied," he said.

At 40 years old, Marquez probably thinks that there is not much career left in his ageing physique. He feels that the time is ripe for two more fights to finish off an exceptional professional boxing career.

Marquez, the third Mexican boxer to win world titles in four divisions, revealed that he was not interested on fighting Ruslan Provodnikov and Mike Alvarado. "They are great fighters," said Marquez. However, he feels that he will get nothing if he fights either one of them. He said that Alvarado isn't a champion. On the subject of Provodnikov, Marquez isn't at all interested of fighting him too because he said that even if he beat Provodnikov, he will win a title that he already owns.

"I want a fifth world title and that's my goal," said Marquez.

After losing to Timothy Bradley via split decision in October 2013, Marquez feels that the best opportunity for him right now is to face Bradley on a rematch. "Undoubtedly, that's my goal," he said. However, Marquez is not certain whether or not he will continue fighting. "First, I must decide if I plan to continue boxing," he said.

If Marquez wants a fifth world title, he has two options. He can fight the American boxer who holds the International Boxing Federation (IBF) World Welterweight Champion, Shawn Porter, who is also known for being Manny Pacquiao's former sparring partner. Then, there is the Argentine boxer Marcos Maidana, who is the current World Boxing Association (WBA) Welterweight Champion.
