Despite rumours of cancellation, the 'Carrie' remake is still set to happen. In fact, veteran actress Julianne Moore has signed in for the remake of this classic horror movie.

Based on the book written by Stephen King, Moore will play the mum of Carrie which was played originally by Piper Laurie. It is the same performance which gave Laurie a Best Supporting Actress award at the Oscars.

For those who were not born in the 80s and are unfamiliar with the plot, it follows the story of a high school outcast. It is like imagining 'Glee' in morbid, horror approach. Carrie is tormented by her mother and her peers, but the bullying comees to an end when she finally discovers that she her telekinesis gets out of control each time she gets mad.

Carrie will be played by Chloe Grace Moretz who recently played the eccentric werewolf role in Tim Burton's 'Dark Shadows.' Kimberly Peirce will take on the director's chair who is also the directing eye behind 'Boys Don't Cry.'

Moretz, 15, is working hard on the film that it was even reported she is designing her own costume for the film's most popular scene, the prom night.
