Former NFL star linebacker Junior Seau was hospitalized with minor injuries Monday, after driving off an embankment. The sports star was taken to Scripps La Jolla Hospital in San Diego. Nine hours before the accident, Seau was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence.
The police said that Seau's white Cadillac SUV was found on the beach 30 feet below the roadside. Seau's 25-year-old, live-in girlfriend told authorities that Seau assaulted her during an argument at his Oceanside home, according to Oceanside police. She appeared to have minor injuries and did not require medical treatment.

The police did not find Junior Seau when they arrived. But authorities arrested Seau two hours later after they asked him to return to his home when Seau called his girlfriend.
Seau was released, after posting bail, from the San Diego County jail in Vista.
A hospital spokeswoman refused to comment on Seau's condition, but employees from his foundation said the sports star was "fine."
