‘Jurassic World’ Apatosaurus, Triceratops And T-Rex Revealed
The official "Jurassic World" website has started to share details about the park and the dinosaurs that viewers can expect to see in the upcoming movie. Details about the Apatosaurus, Triceratops and the Tyrannosaurus Rex are amongst the first to be shared.
The Apatosaurus walked the earth during the Late Jurassic period. It is about 65 to 91 feet long and weighs about 18,000 kg. The dinosaur is herbivorous that eats tree leaves and ferns and lives in herds. The dinosaurs were seen in the trailer of the upcoming movie.
Triceratops is another popular herbivorous dinosaur that will feature in "Jurassic World." The dinosaur is about 30 feet long and belonged to the Late Cretaceous period. The dinosaur has been featuring in the movies from the franchise from the very beginning. Readers who have seen the 1993 movie from the franchise will remember the visitors to the park encountering a very sick Triceratops.
Perhaps the favourite dinosaur from the franchise that is set to feature in "Jurassic World" is the Tyrannosaurus Rex. The dinosaur lived in the Upper Cretaceous period and is about 39 feet long. The dinosaur is a carnivore and one of the top predators of its time. Although the dinosaur has been the main focus in the previous movies, the upcoming movie has something bigger for the fans.
"Jurassic World" will feature a new hybrid dinosaur that fans have so far not seen in the previous movies. The new dinosaur is the result of a lab experiment that is created as a new park attraction. The new dinosaur is said to be highly intelligent and will go on a killing spree in the upcoming movie.
Another new dinosaur that fans of the franchise will get to see in the upcoming movie for the first time is the Mosasaurus. The trailer of the movie shows the dinosaur feeding on a shark. The feeding is watched by hundreds of park visitors in the trailer.
Some of the cast members in "Jurassic World" include Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Judy Greer, Jake Johnson, Katie McGrath, Nick Robinson, Vincent D'Onofrio, Lauren Lapkus, Ty Simpkins, Brian Tee and Irrfan Khan. The movie is slated to be released in June 2015.
