Justin Bieber Breaks Lady Gaga’s Record: First Artist to Hit 2 Billion Views on YouTube
Justin Bieber's videos has hit the 2 billion view mark. That's a billion more than Lady Gaga's record as well as a billion more viewsthe most watched video of 2010, "Baby."
The video continues to rack up viewers by the thousands even today. His newly released Christmas single, "Mistletoe," may have something to do with this.
The video for this single alone has been viewed an upward of 30 million times, and it's only been released early last month (Oct. 18). The video has also been one of the top Google searches for the past month, and is still hitting an average of a million views per day.
This information has been verified by Youtube's Trends blog last Sunday. Gaga's broken record was also confirmed by the web site Famecount.com which tracks celebrity trends and statistics by cross referencing Youtube, Facebook as well as Twitter-based activity.
This is all good news for the Canadian pop idol as he is faced with an alleged paternal lawsuit. Mariah Yeater is a fan that claims her 3-month-old child is fathered by Bieber. The 20-year-old mother claimed that last year, she was taken to meet Bieber backstage and the result of the meeting was the famous then 16-year-old's first sexual encounter.
"Immediately, it was obvious that we were mutually attracted to one another, and we began to kiss. Shortly thereafter, Justin Bieber suggested that I go with him to a private place where we could be alone," thus starts the alleged lawsuit, as obtained by a certain tabloid publication. Yeater is seeking financial support from the singer.
"It's sad that someone would fabricate malicious, defamatory and demonstrably false claims. We will vigorously pursue all available legal remedies to defend and protect Justin against these allegations," a representative of Bieber's camp has told the U.S. magazine, "People."
