Justin Bieber cancels German game show gig after contestant was injured
Justin Bieber canceled an appearance in a game show in Germany after a contestant was injured on the set. Bieber was set to perform in the Wetten Dass, a show reportedly watched by as much as 10 million viewers in Europe.
Samuel Koch, a 23-year old contestant at the show, laid motionless on the set after performing a stunt during the show. While Koch's present condition is no longer life threatening, he had to go under surgery over the weekend after getting multiple fractures and back injuries from the stunt.
The Canadian singer posted a message on her Twitter page asking his fans to pray for the well-being of Koch.
"Just wanted to let my people in Germany know I won't be on Wetten Dass tonight as an accident has taken place and we all don't think it is right to continue," Bieber tweeted.
"Please pray for Samuel Koch & his family as we wait and hope for his health and safety...Some things are more important than putting on a show. We will be back, I promise."
Wetten Dass has been increasingly criticized by the press for its dangerous stunts performed by members of the public. Even its host Thomas Gottschalk stated that he was worried for Koch's safety after watching several rehearsals for the stunt.
