While on a holiday trip with his mom in Japan, Justin Bieber visited Tokyo's Yasukuni Shrine, a place where many lives lost during the World War II are commemorated. Taking a photo of him in front of the shrine and posted it on Instagram with this caption "Thank you for your blessing," infuriated his Chinese and South Korean fans.

The said shrine the young Canadian singer went to is a controversial place and his fans might have construed the pictures of him glorifying the war, according to UK Daily Mail. No wonder he received lots of negative fan messages for being insensitive.

Though the said post generated more than half a million likes on Instagram, the Baby singer nevertheless deleted the same and apologized to those he has offended. For his defense, Justin claimed that he was misled. Apologizing on social media, he has these to say: "while in Japan I asked my driver to pull over for which I saw a beautiful shrine. I was misled to think the Shrines were only a place of prayer. To anyone I have offended I am extremely sorry. I love you China and I love you Japan."

To further rectify the issue, Selena Gomez's on-off beau visited a Japanese orphanage. He shared photos during his visit on his Instagram account. The 20 year-old songster was spotted hanging out with children and having lots of fun with them. Perhaps he is truly sincere about saying sorry after all.

After all the controversy has died off, Justin is back posting pictures of his stroll in Japan. On April 24, he posted a picture of him together with some restaurant crews, making "West Side" hand gestures. More pictures were also uploaded by him recently one of which was him together with two Japanese men in suits.

While Justin is back in the States from his international trip, his comeback was not a good one. The singer was detained at LAX for five hours by custom representatives, an NY Daily news report said. His detention came one week after a deportation petition of him to the US government was made. The White House made a "no comment statement" as of press time.
