While the Canadian teen sensation has been received warmly by millions of tween fans as he toured around world for his ‘My World Tour’, some critics have also given Justin Bieber the thumbs down for his music. Some labeled it ‘bubblegum’ for which the teen sensation has no care about.
At the conference held inside an air-conditioned tent backstage at the concert venue in Mall of Asia, Manila, Bieber told the members of media that he is not bothered by critics who flatly described his music as such, emphasizing that ‘he sees nothing wrong with singing songs about love’.
“It’s a universal thing, and I sing it like it suits my age,” Bieber said at the conference according to the Philippine Daily Inquirer. “My music will grow as I grow older.”
Bieber asserted that his music has had great impacts to a lot of lives, expressing his pride about how his songs have affected people.
“People going through hard times turn to music … There’s a girl who’s been undergoing chemotherapy and she told me that listening to my songs helps her get through it,” he noted, said the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
Bieber arrived in Manila for his May 10 show at the Mall of Asia and thousands of his fans made sure they were there to give them a warm, screaming welcome when he arrived. And they did.
