"Jersey Shore" ladies - Jenni "JWoww" Farley and Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi opened up about Gov. Chris Christie when TMZ asked the ladies what they think about the New Jersey Governor calling himself a fighter on "CBS Sunday Morning."

JWoww, without giving it a second thought, insulted her rival, Gov. Chris Christie.

"He's retarded," said JWoww to the cameraman.

Snooki was quiet most of the time during the interview, the duo stumbled in a bid to find their car and that time JWoww added, "He's a disgrace to New Jersey ... just like we were."

However, JWoww realised her "mistake" and clarified the statements via Twitter.

She stated that she was referring to governor's opposition to gay marriage, according to NJ.com.

"Caught off guard last night and said things I normally don't say. I find it disgusting people are still against gay marriage... So because of that I called [Chris] Christie a name which wasn't appropriate. I do find him disgusting and judgmental. I'm for gay equality."

In the Sunday interview, Christie, out rightly, denied that he was a bully, but instead a fighter. "I think a bully is abusive. And a fighter is somebody who's willing to mix it up to defend his or her point of view," said Christie.

Christie and Snooki have been arch rivals in the past. Christie has called the show "Jersey Shore" bad for New Jersey. They crossed paths with the cast when they were shooting segments for the "Today" show. Christie and Snooki shook hands, but the latter gave Christie a bad look. She also tweeted, "Getting told why we are bad for jersey. Amazing."
