Filipino veteran broadcast journalist Daniel Razon, together with a local television channel, UNTV, as its media partner, once again made history with the recently concluded (Even for Just One Day) Kahit Isang Araw Lang: Unity Run, held Sunday, January 22, 2012, at the SM Mall of Asia grounds in Pasay City, Philippines.

This simultaneous marathon that had over 300,000 participants worldwide - 209,000 registered participants in the Philippines, other unregistered runners who joined just for the love of running, and the rest from several points worldwide.

The bulk of the registered participants joined the group at the SM Mall of Asia grounds but there were also participants in Cebu, Palawan, Davao, Bacolod, Tacloban and Butuan, Philippines. In addition to this, there were also several points set up in South America, New York, Los Angeles, USA, Papua New Guinea and Singapore.

The (Even for Just One Day) Kahit Isang Araw Lang: Unity Run broke the Guinness World record set for "The most participants in a racing event." The Run for the Pasig River held last October 10, 2010 in Manila, Philippines had 116,086 participants. It is clear that the Unity Run exceeded this record by a mile.

"We are not interested in the Guinness World Record recognition," said Mr. Razon, adding that his priority mainly is "to help develop awareness on doing good through our advocacy of providing computer facilities for public schools students."

The advocacy, Kahit Isang Araw Lang (Even for Just One Day), started by Kuya Daniel Razon calls for citizen involvement for change through the launch of social good causes to help the less fortunate, including this Unity Run.

"Even before the unity run, (Education) Secretary Armin Luistro and I have already started putting up computer facilities in various schools," Mr. Razon further stressed.

The proceeds of this Unity Run is said to be for the continuation of the "Adopt-A-School" Project by the Department of Education and UNTV, whereby more than 160 public schools will be given computer facilities.
