Kanye West auditions for ‘American Idol,’ earns 'Ticket to Hollywood'
The latest buzz about rapper Kanye West is that he wants to be the next “American Idol.” The rapper gave an audition for “American Idol” in San Francisco on Saturday.
West made an unannounced entry on stage and took the audience and judges by surprise. He managed to impress the judges --Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr.-- with his performance and won the “Ticket to Hollywood” too.
West chose to perform an a cappella version of his own 2005 hit track “Gold Digger” for the audition round of the Fox talent show. The song even had a reference of Lopez, who was seated among the judges. She was seen grooving to West’s performance as he sang, “My psychic told me she have an a-- like Serena, Trina, Jennifer Lopez.”
The American rapper was accompanied by his pregnant wife Kim Kardashian West to the studio and she congratulated West when he came out of the audition with the ticket in his hand. Kim later took to Instagram to share an image from West’s audition.

West was recently in the news for receiving a political advice from President Barack Obama. The rapper announced his desire to run for president in 2020. Obama was at a West Coast fundraiser when he mentioned West in his speech. "Saying that you have a 'Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy' — that's what's known as 'off-message' in politics, Obama advised West, according to NBC news.
"You can't say something like that. There are a lot of people who have lost their congressional seats saying things like that," he added.
