Kanye West Didn't Invite Bruce Jenner at His Proposal to Kim Kardashian?
After Kanye West and Kim Kardashian's much talked about surprise proposal on Oct. 21, 2013, rumours of Kanye not inviting Bruce Jenner, Kim's stepfather, on the said occasion are swirling around.
Reports say that the guest list at Kim's birthday and engagement party lacked a familiar face from the Jenner and Kardashian clan. Kim's stepdad, Bruce Jenner was nowhere to be found on the special event.
Jenner, who recently split up with wife Kris, was reportedly not invited by Kanye himself. According to TMZ, not only was Bruce not invited, but he was also not aware of the surprise engagement as well. It turns out Kim wasn't the only one who got surprised by the twist of events.
Bruce only learned of the engagement after Kim called to tell him about the exciting news. Kim is still close to Bruce and even considers him her father that's why he was the first person that Kim called.
But, Kanye and Bruce's relationship is another matter. The two of them "have never had a real conversation," sources say.
This could have been because Bruce was said to be unhappy about Kim's relationship with Kanye from the get-go.
In 2012, during a speaking engagement at the Northeastern University in Boston, Bruce even said that he wasn't excited about Kim and Kanye's romance.
"I'm not that excited, but we'll see. Kimberly and I have had a conversation about them and their potential relationship," said Jenner.
It's not that Bruce hates Kanye, it's just that he's overprotective of Kim, who Bruce treats like her own daughter. He just wants her to proceed with caution, especially since she was recently married and has just separated from Kris Humphries.
The rest of the Kardashian and Jenner clan were present at the lavish party which was held at the AT&T Park in San Francisco, California. Other notable guests included YouTube co-founder Chad Hurley, jewelry designer Lorraine Schwartz, San Francisco Giants CEO Larry Baer and Jaden Smith. Aside from Bruce Jenner, Brody and Brandon Jenner were also not seen at the event.
36-year-old West planned the romantic and over-the-top details of the event, including using a Jumbotron at the baseball park to flash the message "PLEEEASE MARRY MEEE!!!" on the screen for Kim to see. He even had a 50-piece orchestra play the song "Young and Beautiful," by Lana Del Rey and his own song "Knock You Down," which he collaborated with Ne-Yo and Keri Hilson.
Meanwhile, Chad Hurley reportedly shot some footage of the party on his new app, MixBit. To see a video of Kanye West's extravagant proposal to Kim Kardashian, click here.
