Rapper Kanye West channels his artistic endeavors as a writer, celebrity and creative director in the October 2010 issue of XXL magazine where he also graces the cover. West penned the cover article himself and even served as creative director of his own 40-page section in the issue. There's definitely a lot of Kanye West in this XXL Magazine.

As expected, Kanye West wrote about his infamous upstaging of Taylor Swift (which he fortunately did not repeat this year) once again reiterating a point he made public via Twitter.

"I stress that the incident wasn't about Taylor personally," West said in the article. "And it definitely wasn't about race. Where I messed up is, at the end of the day, it's your show, Taylor. It's your show, MTV."

"The relationship with the public and with your fans is like the relationship with your girlfriend," Kanye West added. "How could I not, at a certain point, be like, 'I'm sorry. I shouldn't have been at the awards show. I'm sorry.' Not that I don't deserve to get beat up or change who I am inside, to make sure that that doesn't happen again."

West narrates that after the incident, he had dedicated himself to working at his music. The rapper had been dishing out collaborations with other singers and artists such as MTV VMA 2010 Best New Artist Justin Bieber. West has an album due to be released by the end of the year.

"I knew I wasn't in a great spot publicly after the incident, but I would just block it out and work as hard as possible and let my work be my saving grace."

The issue will be available on newsstands Tuesday, September 28.
